Crypto trades continuously; the banks and market makers funding it do not. Weekend captures show the effect, unevenly.

## Method

Three pairs of different depth, captured Saturday and Sunday at a fixed hour, compared against the mean of the surrounding weekdays at the same hour and size.

Four weekends. Enough to see direction, not enough to size the effect precisely.

## The deepest pair

Widened slightly. The difference was small enough that it would be lost in the noise of any single capture, and only showed as a consistent direction across all four weekends.

For ordinary transaction sizes on this pair, the effect is not worth acting on.

## The middle pair

Widened noticeably. The weekend captures sat clearly above the weekday band on every occasion.

At a thousand dollar size this is a few dollars. At a hundred thousand it is not.

## The thinnest pair

Widened substantially and variably. Two of the four weekends showed spreads several times the weekday level.

On pairs like this, weekend transacting is a decision that should be made deliberately rather than by default.

## The pattern

Widening scales inversely with depth. The deeper the pair, the less the weekend matters, which is the expected result and useful to have confirmed on specific pairs rather than in general.

## What this does not show

Whether execution quality follows quotes. A wider quote that is honoured may be better than a tighter quote that slips, and captures cannot distinguish them.

## The operational conclusion

Discretionary conversions on thin pairs belong on weekdays. Conversions on deep pairs can happen whenever, because the premium is smaller than the noise.

For anything with a deadline, the premium is simply the cost of the deadline. [An exchange that holds the quote long enough to read it](https://collectnexchange.cy/services/swap) is worth more at the weekend than during the week, because that is when holding a quote is hardest.

[Platforms that show slippage before confirmation](https://collectnexchange.cy/services/crypto-exchange) make the weekend penalty visible at the moment it applies, and [Collect & Exchange](https://collectnexchange.cy/) quotes continuously rather than widening quietly.
